Why did you join the society?

"I decided I wanted to try something new and push my comfort zones. YBLS was very friendly and made me feel comfortable enough to do that."

Why did you run for this role?

"I've loved being part of YBLS for the last three years, the atmosphere is so fun and friendly, and I really wanted to give back and help keep that great atmosphere up!"

 

What do you hope to do with this role?

I hope to encourage more people to give ballroom and latin a go! I'm hoping with better access to dance and the friendly environment, people will feel comfortable in our lessons and might even give competing a try.

Favourite Dance: 

"Quickstep. It's so much fun and when you get it right it feels like you're floating."

Random Fact: 

"I once saved a turtle that came up through the drains."

Favourite YBLS Memory:

"Probably winning our offbeat category at NUDC last year. Everyone had worked so hard, especially our choreographer, and coming away with first place made it even more special."

Any advice/ tips for freshers?"

"Have some fun! Try loads of different things and don't get held back by what other people might think!"
